Washed kurume and wolisho from the Ethiopian highlands. Think black tea, bergamot and kiwi.
From the roaster
Until 3 years ago, Ethiopian coffees were mainly traded through the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange. Here, coffees were brought in as regional blends and auctioned off to the highest bidder. The change in law has meant there is less bulk blending & in turn new taste profiles are being discovered. Samii refers to our importers categorisations that are helping to define and navigate through this exciting time. A typical Samii coffee will be predominantly floral, gloriously tea-like & perfumed with sweet spices & citrus.
